  • ❧ Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure in which gently abrasive diamond crystals that are propelled onto the skin within a controlled vacuum suction system, leading to exfoliation of the stratum corneum. Microdermabrasion was reported to show benefit in a nonrandomized pilot study comparing severity of acne in photographs before and after treatment.**

❧ Intralesional glucocorticoids are a treatment option for nodules (large cysts) that may take weeks to resolve on their own. Treated lesions usually settle within 48-72 hours, improving appearance and discomfort. This injection is done by the doctor & involves a small additional fee.

❧ The Quartz Peel is a medical peel containing 20% azelaic acid + 20% salicylic acid*** This peel has both antifungal and comedolytic (anti-pimple) properties but is gentle enough for sensitive skins. Medical peels work to quicken the process of comedone resolution and reduce the number of acne lesions. These office-based peels also help maintain skin results and clearance from acne after cure has been achieved. Indicated especially for treating the different stages of acne, redness & scars. Please stop any topical retinoids several days prior to your peel. We do not recommend adding the peel whilst on oral retinoids.
